Welcome to the Gwangalli New Media Art Museum.

Located at the southern tip of Korea, Busan fantastic coastline offers a place of rare beauty in the world. To highlight Busan’s unique and obvious advantages, we have prepared a creative concept that takes into consideration many aspects, including climate conditions and beach installations.

This is the basis for this open-air and moving art museum situated along Busan’s coastline, namely at Gwangalli beach.

The New Media Art Museum aims to show artworks that usually include lights so they can be easily seen on the water or on the ground by everyone night and day, at any moment. The aim is also to engage with the public year-round, in a permanent and accurate way.

However, the art is not to be degraded by a simple performance of lights and videos. In order to position itself as a great museum, it is essential to attract participation by artists of all abilities. We hope the foundation laid out by the six global artists currently gathered for this first step will be reinforced by numerous artists going forward.
