Jwasuyeong Fortress Site Japanese Black Pine (Natural Monument No. 270)

It is a gigantic 400 years old tree located near Suyeong Fortress South Gate, and its branches shoot up toward the sky.
When Jwasuyeong was installed during the Joseon Dynasty, it had already been a large tree, so the naval forces are said to have designated it as a tree of war god wishing for their safety. It is said that the naval forces performed an annual rite to wish for their safe return after a war.
The tree was designated as Natural Monument No. 279 on November 4, 1982 as is so gigantic and rare. 
It is 22m in height, 4.5m in circumference and 19m and 21.8m width of crown (respectively, east-west and south-north)

Location

There is Haeun Apartment 50 meters away in the direction of Yeonsan-dong at Suyeong Crossroads, and it is located 200 meters along a road on the right hand side. (Entry of Suyeong Sajeok Park)

Transportation

Bus

Take 5,5-1,20,36,42,49-1,51-1,54,62,63,131,141 and 210 and get off at Suyeong Sajeok Park before walking for 10 minutes

Subway

Take Subway Line No. 2 and 3 and get off at Suyeong Station before getting out through Exit No. 2 and walking for 10 minutes
