Seated Rock-carved Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva (Busan Metropolitan City-Designated Cultural Property Material No. 7)

Located in Okryeonseonwon Temple in Millak-dong, Seated Rock-Carved Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva was designated as Cultural Property Material No. 7 by Busan Metropolitan City on May 16, 2001 and managed by Okryeonseonwon Temple. It originates from Baengryeongsa Buddhist Temple that was established in the site of the Okryeonseonwon Temple, and this rock-carved Buddha is assumed to have been made at that time.

As for a sculpting method, it was delicately and consistently carved. It is so much abrased that it is hard to find its original form. It is said that it was struck by lightning to be turned upside down and placed at the current location. This Buddhist temple originally aimed at the Maitreya world and has been famous for being a national defense Buddhist temple for a long time.

Location

If you go 200 meters in the direction of Haeundae along Gwangnam-ro (Local Road No. 30) from MBC Broadcasting Company and take the left hand side road before going 350 meters, you would come across Okryeonseonwon Temple. It is inside the temple.

Transportation

In the direction of Millak-dong from Suyeong-gu Office Take Buses 41, 83, 83-1 and 108-1 and get off in 20 minutes (every 5 to 10 minutes) (The last stop)
