Jwasuyeong Memorial Stone for Victims of Japanese Invasion of 1592

During Japanese invasion of Korea in 1952, Busan, the first strategic point of enemy forces, was hit hard. Japanese invaders who took Busanjin (Busan military camp) flocked to Jwasuyeong to slaughter helpless ordinary people. Feared, Susa Hong Park fled from a military camp, and soldiers were at a loss without their leader. At that time, local residents raised an army in the cause of justice and organized a do-or-die squad.

Led by 25 war heroes, residents of Jwasuyeong Fortress and others residing nearby risked their lives to fight against the Japanese invaders, and most of them were killed by the enemy forces armed to the teeth.
They sacrificed their lives for their country.

As they had no descendants who could recognize their sacrifice for their own country, Local Gentry Association erected a memorial stone in a sunny place in the east side of Okryeonseonwon Temple in order to comfort their victimized souls 400 years ago on August 25, 1999
The back side of the stone monument looks like a house roofed with tiles, and a large stone (2.2 meters in width and 1.5 meters in length) was used as its body where an epitaph was inscribed. The total height of the monument is 2.9 meters.
